I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, along with four brothers and one sister. I went to Godsman Elementary School for kindergarten and then to Redeemer Lutheran School for grades 1-8. Then for high school I attended Denver Lutheran High and graduated in 1971. My parents are Orv(deceased in 1999) and Ruth Hartman. For college, I attended Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Nebraska and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1975 with a major in English Literature and a minor in music. Upon graduating I married Dave Glasgow, who was born and raised in Winfield. We settled down in Winfield and I substitute-taught for USD #465 for a year. Then I taught kindergarten for two years in Dexter. My daughter, Amber, was born in 1978 and I didn’t work outside the home until she started first grade at Trinity. I substitute-taught two years for USD#465 and my son, Derek, was born in 1986. I started teaching preschool at Trinity in the fall of 1987 and I’m now in my 18 th year. During that time I received a Master’s in Education in 1990 from Southwestern College. I enjoy teaching at Trinity because I like working with children and the faculty and staff are great! I’m thankful that Jesus is an integral part of the school. My activities include playing organ for church, singing in the adult choir, playing in the handbell choir, giving piano lessons and riding my bike daily. Dave, my husband of 30 years as of July 21 st, works for Stryker Orthopedics in Wichita. We have a grandson, Aley , who’s two and lives with our daughter in the Kansas City area. |
