Serving and teaching in a Christ-centered congregation and school means that I have the opportunity to share the word of Christ, as we worship Him each and every day, keeping Him alive and active in our daily lives. As we teach in His name this school year, our faith and knowledge about our Lord, Jesus Christ will grow together.
My name is Sheryl Pugmire, my friends call me Sherry. I am honored and blessed to be teaching preschool!
A little bit about myself, I am happily married, and have three wonderful sons. I am proud to say that, Jacob and Ryan went to school here at Trinity from 2007-2010. Now they are United States Marines. I ran a home daycare for seventeen years, Sherry Berry's Christian Child Care. It was a successful business so I returned to school to receive my Early Childhood Education AA.
I worked ten years as a Mental Retardation Technician 2. It was a great learning adventure. Since then I have always continued to learn how to teach children and have taken many courses to best teach children in varying degrees. I have taught children in churches, in Sunday school, and Vacation Bible School for many years now.
As Assistant Children's Minister I was part of a great team that taught an after school group of children called Kids Club about Jesus.
In 2014 I was blessed to go on a mission trip to Costa Rica. Once I was there we began to teach Vacation Bible School several times within the week in humbling locations.
I have a Substitute Teachers License. I have practiced that with all grade levels for four years now. I am a tutor for an afterschool program, KRR, tutoring children on reading, and comprehension here in Winfield, which went through the month of June with extra fun activities.
I am a Certified Lay Minister through United Methodist Great Plains Conference. I served with other Ministers at the United Methodist Hicks Chapel for four years.
I look forward to get to know you and your child.
