Biography
Chris Dehning just recently joined Trinity’s staff in June, 2021.
Education:
Chris attended college at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. In 2010, he received his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with a Social Science field endorsement. In 2019, he graduated from Concordia, Seward with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration.
In 2010, Chris began his teaching ministry at Immanuel Lutheran School in Lockwood, Missouri, teaching 6th-8th grade. He taught there for two years.
In 2012, he accepted a Call to teach 7th-8th grade at Zion Lutheran School in Cologne, MN.
In 2015, he added the responsibility of being principal at Zion. He taught there for 6 years.
In 2018, he accepted a Call to be principal at Trinity Lutheran School in Hoyleton, Illinois. He also taught 7th grade math and K-8 P.E. He taught there for 3 years.
Then in 2021, he accepted a Call to Trinity, Winfield to be principal and the 5th & 6th Grade Homeroom teacher.
He and his wife Rachel have two children, Lydia and Toby, both of whom are enrolled at Trinity. When not at school, he enjoys watching and playing sports, running, and being active with his family. They especially like hiking and exploring new places.
Chris’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:33:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
