Greetings Kindergarten,

Praise God for Lutheran Schools!! :) This week we will celebrate Christian education! Please look below for upcoming celebrations and important dates. :) THANK YOU Parents for all you do for your children.


This week in Religion our story will be: Jesus Turns Water into Wine John 2: 1-12. Our memory verse this week will be: Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you. Psalm 50:15. Our school verse is “Christ is before all things and in Him all things hold together” Colossians 1:17.


This week in Reading our question this week will be: “What adventures can you have on a lucky day?”. Our book for this week will be: My Lucky Day. We will be focusing on the comprehension skill: Cause & Effect. We will be recognizing alphabet letters and sounds while putting sounds together to make words. Our high frequency words will be: they, you, of, little, is, it, look, for, me, with, she, for, he, have, to, a, I, am, the, and little as well as our color/ number/ and family words.


This week in Phonics we will focus on the letters Ll /l/ & Xx /x/.


This week in Math we will work on: introducing measurement, writing number sentences, counting by 2’s, finding odd and even numbers, telling time, counting money, reviewing shapes, and subtraction facts. We will also continue to work on: number recognition, counting to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s, and writing our numbers to 50. We will start recognizing, naming, and drawing 2D and 3D Shapes and making pictures with shapes.


This week in Science we will learn how to make a lightsaber.


In Social Studies we will learn where we live on maps of the country, state, town, and neighborhood.


Important Dates & Reminders:

*** Students sing in church January 30th***

*** Friday, February 4th is the 100th DAY of School!!

Students are encouraged to Dress like they are 100 Years Old.

*** Grandparents Day is Friday, February 11th. Please text me each of the names of the students' grandparents near or far. I believe I know names, but want to get the spelling correct for an art project.

*Coats, gloves, and hats will be needed daily for recess

* Addition and Subtraction Flashcards were sent home last week.
